I was very excited when I was asked to play at the SHE future conference by my friend, Jeanette G., who's involved in the movement.
Of course I wanted to!
I had been looking for a way to get involved since I first heard of it.
Through my work with teenagers and anti drugs I became a part of the Sisterhood network. In Sisterhood they focus on empowering young girls. They teach social skills that will help them make good decisions and grow up to be independent women. My hope for them is that they will be as strong and lucid as the women I encountered in the SHE community.
It's no secret that I'm very passionate about equality and women's rights. I think women in Norway are extremely fortunate, as everyone else who lives in this great country is. However, rights that have been fought for and given, can also be taken away.
It's a continuous battle and a battle everyone in society should take seriously.
In the SHE Community they believe that better gender balance in business fuels innovation and growth. And their goal is to motivate and engage people to work together for more diversity in business. Everybody wins.
My small contribution was to add something of value to the ambiance. To be continued.
